44/52 - Evening at Zaanse Schans
Zaanse Schans, The Netherlands.
The colourful windmills by the canals are one of the most iconic landscapes of Northern Holland. Zaanse Schans is a village that in the 17th century had more than 600 windmills. 8 of them were well preserved and relocated to form the Zaans Museum, which offers a glimpse into the Netherlands industrial past with authentic houses, windmills, a tinware factory, a cheese and dairy factory and other crafts.
