Little Paradise
Alentejo Coast, Portugal. This photo was taken after a lovely sunset at a beach near Mira river mouth. These unusual rock formations are only visible during a couple of months after winter, on the rest of the year they are covered by sand.

Nightfall
This photo was taken in S. Torpes beach at Alentejo, Portugal. It's a wonderful beach that contrasts with the near industrial port. These rocks are only covered by this beautiful green moss for a couple months on Spring.

Solar Pillar
Solar pillar effect in Alentejo, Portugal. A light pillar is an atmospheric optical phenomenon in the form of a vertical band of light which appears to extend above and/or below a light source. The effect is created by the reflection of light from numerous tiny ice crystals suspended in the atmosphere or clouds. The light can come from the Sun (usually when it is near or even below the horizon) in which case the phenomenon is called a sun pillar or solar pillar. It can also come from the Moon or from terrestrial sources such as streetlights.
